Teach Now is seeking an organised and enthusiastic Year 5 Class Teacher for a three-day-a-week job share at a warm and welcoming independent Jewish day school in Barnet.

You will teach a well-behaved class of 24 pupils who respond positively to clear routines, firm boundaries and well-paced lessons. The role offers an excellent work-life balance, substantial non-contact time and the support of an approachable Deputy Headteacher, who will be your job-share partner.

The Role

• Plan and deliver engaging, well-structured KS2 lessons.
• Share responsibility for English and Maths planning across the week.
• Take responsibility for planning three additional curriculum subjects.
• Assess pupils progress and provide clear, purposeful feedback.
• Maintain consistent expectations across both sides of the job share.
• Work collaboratively with the Deputy Headteacher and supporting staff.
• Build positive relationships with pupils, colleagues and families.

A strong bank of existing planning is available and can be adapted to suit your teaching style and the needs of the class. The school also follows a practical feedback approach, including live marking in Maths and focused corrections in English.

About You

• Hold UK-recognised Qualified Teacher Status.
• Have experience teaching within KS2.
• Be organised, reliable and comfortable working collaboratively.
• Deliver lessons with clear structure, pace and appropriate challenge.
• Be warm and approachable while maintaining strong classroom expectations.
• Communicate effectively to ensure continuity across the job share.
