At Education Partnership North East (EPNE) , we are inviting Expressions of Interest from enthusiastic, committed and experienced individuals who would like to be part of our growing Animal Management and Land-Based provision across Sunderland & Northumberland College.

We are building talent pipelines for a wide range of current and future opportunities and are keen to hear from candidates interested in roles such as:

• Lecturers in Animal Management / Animal Care
• Heads of Department
• Faculty Directors

Whether you are an experienced industry professional looking to move into education, an established lecturer ready for your next leadership opportunity, or a specialist technician passionate about animal welfare and practical learning environments, we would love to hear from you.

We welcome expressions of interest from individuals seeking to work with us on a:

• Full-time basis
• Part-time basis
• Casual basis
• Temporary basis

If you are considering a move into further education but do not yet hold a teaching qualification, that is not a barrier. No prior teaching experience is required. We provide full training and professional development support, including the opportunity to gain your Level 5 teaching qualification while working with us.

Taking Teaching Further & Additional Incentives

If you’re making the move into further education teaching, you may be eligible for the Taking Teaching Further (TTF) programme, a funded route designed to support industry professionals to retrain as FE teachers.

In addition, for roles in high-need subjects or regions, you may also benefit from the government’s Targeted Retention Incentive (formerly the “levelling-up premium”) payments. These payments are worth up to £6,000 for eligible teachers in their first five years who are teaching certain shortage subjects.

Please note that eligibility for both TTF and the Targeted Retention Incentive varies by role, subject area and provider, they do not apply to every vacancy.
