The GGDO, manages direct Government programmes as part of the Worldwide Public Sector business. In this role you will work directly with customers, partners, and AWS service teams to manage technical and business integration challenges.

Key job responsibilities

As a Principal Technologist In AWS GGDO, You Will

Liaise with AWS service teams to ensure that AWS meets technical commitments to customers in named programs.
Interface with Capture, Sales, and Solutions Architecture teams to provide technical depth to partnership discussions and capture/pursuit decisions.
Coordinate a matrixed team drawn from the Federal business verticals in support of specific programs.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop the long-term strategy for AWS to deliver in the Federal program space, including global infrastructure, feature and service deployment, and go-to-market approach.

A day in the life

The Principal Technologist (PT) acts as the programme's primary technical point of contact for our customers. They lead executive engagement across multiple technical disciplines to include but not limited to cloud security, service and feature roadmap, infrastructure and capacity expansion, and meeting unique contract requirements. The PT works across AWS stakeholders to include Region Services, Security, Infrastructure, and Sales to ensure technical delivery across the contract.

Basic Qualifications

Experience developing strategies that influence leadership decisions at the organizational level
Experience working with Core Cloud Technology Services, including, but not limited to Compute, Edge, Hybrid, Security, and/or Networking
Experience in Go-To-Market, Business Development, Sales, or Consulting
Experience working with Data & AI related technologies, including, but not limited to, AI/ML, GenAI, Analytics, Database, and/or Storage

Preferred Qualifications

Experience managing cross-functional programs and release schedules
Experience in written and verbal communication with the ability to present complex technical information in a clear and concise manner to executives and non-technical leaders
Experience working with Enterprise Application Modernization and Migration technologies, including, but not limited to, Mainframe, Serverless, Containers, or Cloud Operations
Experience working with Advanced Compute technologies including, but not limited to: Accelerated Compute, High Performance Compute, Visual/Spatial Compute, and/or IoT.
Experience working in or with UK Government departments
Experience managing or supporting UK Government contracts and frameworks (e.g., G-Cloud, CCS frameworks)
Experience managing UK Government projects built using cloud technologies; knowledge of the challenges involved with providing technical solutions to UK Government customers, including compliance with UK Government Cloud Security Principles
Understanding of UK Government procurement processes and frameworks
