KS2 Teaching Assistant Colne

About the role:

We are currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic KS2 Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Colne from September 2026 . This is a full-time, temporary position providing long-term supply cover for the full academic year . The successful candidate will support teaching and learning across Key Stage 2, including providing additional support for pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN).

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the class teacher in delivering engaging and effective lessons across Key Stage 2.
• Work with individual pupils and small groups to provide targeted academic support.
• Assist in supporting pupils with SEN, helping them to access learning and achieve their goals.
• Promote positive behaviour and encourage pupil engagement within the classroom.
• Help prepare learning resources and contribute to a safe, inclusive learning environment.

Pre-requisites:

• Relevant Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.
• Proven experience of working with children in a primary school setting.
• Two education or school-based references.
• Experience supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
