Teaching Personnel is currently recruiting dedicated and resilient Teaching Assistants to work across a range of secondary schools, including both mainstream and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) provisions. These rewarding roles offer the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young people by providing tailored academic, behavioural and emotional support.

The Role

• Support students aged 11-16 within classroom settings
• Provide one-to-one and small group interventions
• Assist teachers in delivering engaging lessons and learning activities
• Promote positive behaviour and help students overcome barriers to learning
• Support students with additional learning, social, emotional or behavioural needs
• Build positive and professional relationships with students, staff and parents where appropriate

The Ideal Candidate

• Have previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant or in a similar educational support role
• Have experience working with secondary-aged students
• Have experience supporting students with additional needs, including SEMH, ASD, ADHD or behavioural challenges (desirable)
• Are patient, resilient and able to build positive relationships with young people
• Possess strong communication and teamwork skills
• Are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children

Requirements

• Enhanced DBS Certificate registered on the DBS Update Service (essential)
• Right to work in the UK
• References covering the past two years
• Relevant education or childcare qualifications are desirable but not essential

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
