Compassionate Domiciliary Care Worker - Flexible Hours

About Choices Homecare

We collaborate closely with local authorities, healthcare providers, and care professionals to deliver outcome‑focused care.

Working Hours

Our service provides care 7 days a week between 07:00 – 22:00. We are specifically seeking evening and weekend workers to cover the hours of 16:00 – 22:00 Monday – Sunday. This role is paid for care delivery time only, with mileage between calls reimbursed at 30p per mile. This is not a block pay position. Flexibility is offered through a 2‑week rolling rota and flexible zero‑hour contracts.

Key Responsibilities

• Supporting individuals with personal care needs such as washing, dressing, and toileting.
• Assisting with medication administration and documentation in line with care plans.
• Preparing meals and assisting with eating and drinking where required.
• Promoting independence and encouraging service users to engage in daily living tasks.
• Building positive relationships with individuals and their families.
• Supporting emotional well‑being and recognising signs of distress or changes in behaviour.
• Maintaining accurate records and communicating effectively with colleagues and supervisors.
• Ensuring a clean, safe, and comfortable environment in the home.
• Respecting confidentiality and always maintaining professional boundaries.

What You’ll Need

• Experience preferred but not essential – full training provided.
• UK driving licence and own vehicle essential for certain routes/locations (we pay 30p per mile fuel allowance).
• Alternative weekend availability.

• This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship. Candidates must have current and valid permission to work in the UK.
• You’ll need a full UK driving licence and your own vehicle. For travel between clients you’ll also need business use included on your own car insurance – usually a quick and inexpensive addition to your existing policy.
