Purchasing Assistant (Part Time)

A growing organisation is looking for a Purchasing Assistant to join their team on a Part Time basis.

The position is based in Chandlers Ford , with working hours of 9:30am-2:30pm, Monday to Thursday . The role offers an hourly rate of up to £16.50 per hour , equivalent to approximately £17,160 per annum.

Role responsibilities

• Create and manage purchase orders.
• Source new and existing parts by obtaining quotations, comparing suppliers, and supporting NPI sourcing activities.
• Maintain accurate BOM, MRP, supplier, pricing and lead-time data to support procurement and production requirements.
• Monitor deliveries, shortages and supplier performance, expediting orders and identifying supply risks, obsolescence or long lead-time issues.
• Collaborate with procurement, engineering, production, stores and senior management to support materials planning, stock control and quality/traceability requirements.

Person Specification

• Strong administrative and organisational skills
• Good attention to detail and accuracy when handling part numbers, BOMs and purchasing data
• Confident communication skills with suppliers and internal teams
• Comfortable working with Excel and MRP systems
• Ability to prioritise tasks and manage multiple orders and enquiries at the same time
• Experience with electronics is a big desirable
