Supply Desk are working closely with a welcoming and supportive SEN school in Andover, who are seeking a compassionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team from September.

About the School

This friendly and inclusive SEN school caters for pupils aged 4-16 with a range of additional needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN) and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

Responsibilities

Support students inside and outside the classroom, helping to deliver personalised learning, promote independence and encourage positive social and emotional development.
Assist with one-to-one support and small group activities as required.
Support the development of positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing.
Collaborate with teaching staff and other professionals to meet individual pupil needs.

Qualifications

Experience working with children or young people with additional needs (desirable but not essential).
Patience, care and a passion for supporting pupils with SEN.
Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents.
Experience supporting students on a one-to-one basis and in small groups.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
