BHC is one of the UK’s leading Structural Steel Fabrication and Construction companies, supplying and erecting fabricated steel nationwide within the UK and Ireland. We are currently seeking a Purchasing / Administration Assistant to support our busy Purchasing Department. Working as a key member of the team, you will be responsible for assisting in the day-to-day activities within the department.

Main Responsibilities:

• Raising and processing purchase orders.
• Ensuring purchase order information is accurate and up to date within our systems.
• Liaising with suppliers regarding orders and general enquiries.
• Supporting the buyers in researching new products and suppliers, and maintaining accurate supplier contract records.
• Providing support across the purchasing and material control department as required.

Essential Skills and Experience Required:

• Excellent attention to detail.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Willingness to learn new systems and processes.
• Strong numeracy and analytical skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Experience within a structural steel or construction environment would be advantageous but is not essential. No previous experience is required as full training will be provided.
