Roadside Technician

Job Overview

RAC is looking for a Roadside Technician to support the maintenance, repair and diagnostics of light vehicles across the UK. The role requires on-site presence and the ability to deliver quick, confident solutions to roadside and breakdown challenges.

Location

Portsmouth cluster – covering Portsmouth, Havant, Waterlooville, Fareham, Gosport, Chichester and Emsworth. The daily on‑site work is based locally and sales are actively supported within this area.

Qualifications

• Level 2 Light Vehicle Maintenance qualification (or equivalent)
• Minimum of 2 years’ post‑qualification experience in technical, electrical or diagnostic roles
• Customer‑focused approach
• Full UK driving licence

Responsibilities

• Deliver expert mechanical roadside repair and vehicle diagnostics across the UK.
• Provide emergency breakdown support, including flat battery, tyre change and fault‑finding solutions.
• Combine technical expertise with outstanding member service to meet the needs of customers.
• Work onsite daily, tackling challenges head‑on and delivering real impact on the road.

Benefits

• Base salary of £36,400
• Realistic OTE of £61,000, with bonuses and overtime rates
