Senior Management Accountant

Sharp Consultancy is pleased to be working in partnership with an established and growing UK business on an exciting opportunity for a Senior Management Accountant.

This is a role we feel will particularly appeal to a qualified accountant looking for a genuine step forward in their career not simply another move, but an opportunity to take on greater responsibility, broaden their commercial exposure and work closely with a dynamic, growth focused Finance Director.

You'll have the opportunity to understand the business, challenge performance, improve processes and work closely with the Finance Director across a range of financial and commercial priorities.

The opportunity

Reporting directly into the Finance Director, you'll take ownership of the management accounting function and play an important role in providing the financial information and insight needed to support continued growth.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Taking ownership of the monthly management accounts and month-end close
• Producing P&L, balance sheet and cash-flow reporting
• Budgeting, forecasting and cash-flow forecasting
• Providing analysis and commentary around performance, variances and trends
• Supporting working capital management and wider financial planning
• Maintaining strong financial controls and reconciliations
• Supporting year-end, audit and VAT requirements
• Overseeing monthly payroll processes
• Working closely with operational teams to understand financial performance
• Identifying opportunities to improve processes, systems and reporting
• Supporting the Finance Director with wider projects and business improvement initiatives
• Providing day-to-day guidance and support to members of the wider finance team

About you

You'll ideally be ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified, with solid experience across management accounts, month-end, budgeting and forecasting.

You'll be technically strong, commercially curious and confident communicating with people outside of finance.

Most importantly, you'll have ambition. We're looking for someone who doesn't want to stand still and is motivated by the opportunity to develop their career alongside a growing business and an ambitious Finance Director.
