Interim Head of Finance - 6-Month Contract

Reading | £450-£600 per day | Inside IR35

Our Client: An SME software business based in Reading is seeking an Interim Head of Finance for a six-month assignment, providing hands-on financial leadership and supporting commercial decision-making.

The Role:

Reporting to the senior leadership team, you will take ownership of the finance function, ensuring accurate reporting, effective controls and clear visibility of business performance.

• Lead day-to-day finance operations and oversee month-end reporting and management accounts.
• Manage budgets, forecasts, cash flow and working capital.
• Partner with senior stakeholders to assess revenue, costs and profitability.
• Strengthen financial controls, reporting processes and management information.
• Lead and support the finance team, overseeing statutory reporting and audit requirements.

About You:

• ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified, with experience leading finance within an SME.
• A hands-on approach, combining strong technical accounting with commercial judgement.
• Software or technology sector experience, ideally with exposure to recurring revenue models.
• Confident managing stakeholders and quickly establishing priorities in an interim assignment.

What You Will Receive in Return:

A six-month assignment paying £450-£600 per day, inside IR35 , with the opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to an SME software business and work closely with its leadership team.
