Forensic Accountant

About the Role

Our client is seeking a sharp and analytical Forensic Accountant to join their specialized team in East London . This role involves investigating financial discrepancies, fraud, and other irregularities. You will conduct detailed financial analysis, gather evidence, and prepare reports to support legal proceedings or internal investigations. The ideal candidate possesses exceptional investigative skills, a deep understanding of accounting principles, and the ability to communicate complex findings clearly and concisely, working within a dynamic and challenging environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct investigations into suspected fraud, financial misconduct, and other irregularities.
• Analyze financial data to identify patterns, anomalies, and evidence of financial crime.
• Quantify financial losses and damages resulting from fraudulent activities.
• Prepare detailed forensic accounting reports and present findings to stakeholders, including legal counsel.
• Assist in litigation support, including providing expert testimony in court.
• Develop and implement fraud prevention strategies and controls.

Requirements

• BCom degree in Accounting or Auditing, with a specialization in Forensic Accounting.
• Professional certification such as CFE (Certified Fraud Examiner) or CA(SA) with forensic experience is required.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in forensic accounting, auditing, or fraud investigation.
• Strong knowledge of accounting, auditing, and investigative techniques.
• Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
