About the Role

We are seeking an ambitious, results-driven Technical Sales Manager to join a market-leading provider of Point of Entry (POE) commercial and industrial water treatment solutions.

In this dual-focus role, you will be responsible for driving commercial sales performance across London and targeted national accounts, while actively mentoring and developing the wider internal and field sales teams. Operating as the primary commercial specialist, you will spearhead strategy, handle high-value proposals, and champion exceptional service delivery across nominated accounts and major projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Strategic Sales Leadership: Collaborate with Senior Management to develop, implement, and manage the commercial/industrial sales strategy, consistently meeting and exceeding monthly revenue and margin budgets.
• Team Mentorship & Coaching: Support, train, and mentor sales team members to elevate their technical and commercial knowledge, monitor performance, and assist in achieving collective targets.
• Key Account Management: Maintain and expand relationships with key clients through regular site visits, consultative selling, and proactive identification of new and cross-selling opportunities.
• Technical Estimations & Quotations: Design and quote comprehensive water treatment packages and services (including oversight of high-value proposals exceeding £10k). Follow up quotations diligently to convert leads into confirmed orders.
• CPD & Technical Presentations: Deliver professional CPD presentations to consultants, contractors, and end-users, positioning technical capabilities and service excellence at the forefront.
• Forecasting & Reporting: Maintain accurate territory records, sales statistics, pipeline progress, and revenue forecasts, providing regular updates to the Sales Director and senior leadership.
• Cross-Departmental Collaboration: Work in close partnership with internal sales, technical engineering, credit control, distribution, and customer service teams to ensure seamless project delivery and customer satisfaction.

Candidate Requirements

• Industry Experience: A minimum of 3 years of proven sales and/or managerial experience within the water treatment, water hygiene, or building services engineering sector.
• Commercial Acumen: Strong background in commercial/industrial sales, quotation design, proposal management, and margin control.
• Leadership Skills: Demonstrated ability to mentor, inspire, and develop junior or peer sales team members.
• Technical Knowledge: Solid understanding of commercial/industrial water treatment systems, equipment specifications, and relevant UK industry standards.
• IT Literacy: Proficient in Microsoft Office (particularly Excel and Word); familiarity with CRM or business software such as Sage is advantageous.
• Mobility: Full UK driving licence with flexibility to travel across the London region and nationally for site visits, client meetings, and trade exhibitions.
