Employment Lawyer

Our market leading Employment, Pensions and Immigration team advises employers across the UK on all aspects of employment, pensions and immigration law. Our clients are some of the UK's largest and best known employers. We believe that the quality of our clients and strength of our relationships with our clients speaks volumes about the quality of the service we provide.

The candidate will be based at either our Leeds, Manchester, Nottingham, Newcastle, Birmingham or London offices but working as part of our national Employment, Pensions and Immigration team and subject to our hybrid working policy. Our teams are highly ranked in the Legal Directories and have ambitions to grow further.

Responsibilities

• Advising clients on the full range of employment law issues, including redundancy, disciplinary matters, grievances, whistleblowing, discrimination and detriment claims;
• Defending Employment Tribunal claims including drafting defences, bundles, witness statements and merits reports;
• Assisting other members of the team with their caseloads as appropriate;
• Drafting articles and legal updates;
• Assisting with business development initiatives including training and networking;
• Working in accordance with client and internal SLAs;
• Working in accordance with Weightmans’ values and procedures;
• Contributing to set team financial and utilisation targets.
