IP, Tech & Commercial Associate (3-5 PQE) | Top US Law Firm

A leading US law firm is looking to add an Associate to its growing transactional IP, Technology & Commercial practice in London.

The team sits at the intersection of IP, technology and major corporate transactions. Its lawyers advise on IP, IT, data and commercial aspects of cross-border M&A, private equity investments, joint ventures and complex carve-outs, alongside standalone strategic technology and commercial projects.

Associates work with sophisticated corporates, financial sponsors and technology businesses across sectors including financial services, software, consumer, life sciences, automotive and manufacturing.

The Work

You will advise on non-contentious IP and technology issues arising from transactions, identify and manage IP/IT risks during the deal processes, and draft/negotiate complex commercial agreements. These may include licensing, outsourcing, software and technology agreements, transitional services, manufacturing supply, distribution, R&D and other strategic contracts.

About You

You will ideally have 3-5 PQE (E&W or other common law jurisdiction) with strong commercial contract experience gained at a leading firm. Experience involving IP and/or technology matters and exposure to transactional support work would be particularly relevant. Strong drafting and technical legal skills are essential, alongside the ability to translate complex IP and technology issues into pragmatic commercial advice.
