Join Tetra Tech as a Technical Director and help shape the future of our Wastewater Asset Planning and Hydraulic Modelling capability. This is a high‑profile leadership role for an experienced technical specialist who can drive excellence, influence industry thinking and support the delivery of important projects for clients across the UK and internationally.
Working closely with the Water Consulting Directors, you will provide technical leadership across wastewater asset planning and hydraulic modelling projects, with a strong focus on quality, innovation and client confidence. You will lead distinctive consultancy commissions, support project teams with expert technical guidance and contribute to the development of long‑term business strategy.
The role also includes building strong relationships with clients, partners and industry stakeholders, representing Tetra Tech through conferences, publications and professional forums. You will help identify future market needs, shape service development and play a key role in strengthening our technical capability and talent base across the team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone ready to step up into a Technical Director role and make a real impact. In the short term, you will support key projects and client meetings while contributing to the Technical Excellence Group.
In the medium term, you will help develop new opportunities, expand our wastewater asset planning and hydraulic modelling offer and mentor talented colleagues. Over time, you will be recognised as a thought leader in the sector, helping Tetra Tech stay ahead of industry change and secure long‑term frameworks and strategic work.
A relevant degree is essential. A higher degree in a water‑related subject and Chartered or Incorporated status, preferably with ICE or CIWEM, would be advantageous.
You should have sound knowledge of the water industry, including regulatory and compliance standards, along with significant experience in wastewater asset planning and hydraulic modelling approaches. A strong track record in technical innovation and development is essential, together with excellent written, verbal and presentation skills. You will also need strong MS Office capability, the ability to manage your own time and the confidence to work independently and through others. A full UK driving licence is required.
This is a permanent role based in Glasgow or Edinburgh and can be offered on a hybrid basis. The position will involve attendance at client meetings, industry events and Tetra Tech offices as required to support collaboration, project delivery and business development.
In alignment with the Equality Act 2010, we will make reasonable adjustments to support candidates and employees requiring additional arrangements. This could include adaptations to work schedules, training approaches, or the physical workspace. Please inform us if you need any accommodations during the recruitment process or in your day‑to‑day role.
