Commercial Manager

Expert are recruiting on behalf of this market leader who manufacture for supply to the Construction industry. With a strong reputation for delivering high-quality solutions throughout NI, UK & ROI, and with a strong pipeline of successful projects, an opportunity has arisen for an experienced Commercial Manager / Senior Quantity Surveyor to join an established commercial team based in their Head Office in Toome.

As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will take ownership of the commercial management of major projects, ensuring financial performance is maximised while maintaining strong relationships throughout the business. Reporting to the Commercial Director, you will oversee project costs from inception through to final account and provide strategic commercial support to project teams.

Duties to include:

• Preparing and reviewing cost plans, valuations, applications for payment and final accounts
• identifying and managing commercial risks and opportunities, negotiating contracts and variations, and ensuring compliance with contractual obligations.
• Mentor and support junior members of the commercial team, aiding and supporting their development.
• Work alongside many Tier One Contractors in the delivery of significant Commercial projects
• Develop a culture of best practice across the Commercial team

The ideal candidate will be degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related construction discipline.

Demonstrable track record as a CM / Senior QS and have delivered large projects within budget and duration.

Strong knowledge of JCT / NEC Contracts with a strong knowledge of Cost Control

• Previous experience dealing commercially with both sub-contractors and clients
• Must have strong communication and negotiation skills with the ability to maintain positive relationships and take appropriate professional action when dealing with potential difficulties.
• Experience of reviewing contracts is desirable
• Ability to successfully meet monthly debt targets
• IT literate and highly motivated
