Are you an experienced Motor Vehicle Technician looking to take the next step in your career and pass your experience to the next generation?
Role: Automotive Trainer (Light Vehicle)
Salary: £35,000 Commensurate of Experience
Area: Co Antrim
Location: Crumlin
Job description
Growing demand for our Vehicle Maintenance and Repair apprenticeship programmes has created an exciting opportunity for an additional Automotive Trainer to join our team at Transport Training Services, Nutts Corner, Crumlin, County Antrim.
Transport Training Services is the trading name of the Transport Training Board for Northern Ireland. We are the largest provider of automotive apprenticeship training in Northern Ireland, supporting over 350 apprentices and maintaining strong partnerships with employers across the industry for almost 60 years. As our organisation continues to grow, we are seeking an Automotive Trainer with experience in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair to help develop the next generation of skilled technicians. This is an opportunity to move from the workshop into a rewarding role where you can pass on your knowledge and experience while helping shape future careers.
Our apprentices attend our specialist training centre on a block-release programme, completing one week of off-the-job training every eight weeks before returning to their employer for seven weeks to apply and develop their skills in the workplace. This cycle continues throughout the three-year apprenticeship, allowing trainers to combine practical instruction with classroom-based learning and mentoring. We are looking for someone with a genuine passion for the automotive industry and for developing people. Ideally, you will have at least five years' post-qualification experience in the trade, excellent practical skills, and the ability to inspire and support apprentices as they build confidence and competence in their chosen profession.
Joining Transport Training Services means becoming part of a dynamic, forward-looking organisation with a reputation for excellence in apprenticeship delivery. You'll work alongside an experienced team in modern training facilities, contribute to the continued growth of Northern Ireland's automotive sector, and play a key role in preparing apprentices for successful careers in the industry. The post-holder will work as part of a multidisciplinary team of Automotive Trainers and play an active role in the education and training of apprentices and other learners within all curricular areas.
