We're looking for someone who enjoys the programming side of CNC turning and is confident writing new programmes from scratch.
You'll be responsible for: Programming, setting and operating 2-axis CNC turning machines Writing new CNC programmes from scratch / long-hand at the machine Working with G-code Setting machines from engineering drawings through to finished components Selecting tooling and determining appropriate speeds, feeds and cutting conditions Editing and optimising existing programmes Producing one-off and low-to-medium volume precision components Working with a range of hard and soft metals Carrying out in-process inspection and ensuring components meet specification Reading engineering drawings, tolerances and surface finishes Maintaining high standards of quality while working with minimal supervision What we're looking for You'll ideally have: Proven experience as a CNC Turner / CNC Programmer Strong 2-axis CNC turning experience The ability to programme machines from scratch Good knowledge of G-code Strong engineering drawing interpretation skills Experience with tooling, speeds, feeds and cutting conditions A good understanding of tolerances and surface finishes Experience producing precision components A quality-focused and reliable approach The confidence to work independently Fanuc controls and Fanuc Manual Guide i experience would be advantageous, but is not essential. xwwtmva
