We are looking for an experienced and dedicated Registered Manager to take responsibility for the management and development of a children's residential home in Birmingham .

About the role

As Registered Manager, you will have overall responsibility for the day-to-day management of the home , ensuring that the children and young people receive high-quality care and support in line with their individual needs.

You will:

• Take overall responsibility for the effective management of the children's home.
• Ensure the home operates in accordance with Ofsted regulations, the Children's Homes (England) Regulations 2015 and Quality Standards .
• Safeguard and promote the welfare of all children and young people.
• Provide strong, visible and inspirational leadership to the staff team.
• Recruit, induct, supervise and develop staff to ensure high standards of practice.
• Create a positive culture where children feel safe, listened to, respected and valued.
• Ensure individual care plans, risk assessments and placement plans are implemented and regularly reviewed.
• Work closely with social workers, local authorities, education providers, health professionals and families.
• Monitor the quality of care and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
• Manage incidents, complaints, safeguarding concerns and notifications appropriately.
• Maintain accurate records and ensure all regulatory and organisational requirements are met.
• Prepare for and actively participate in Ofsted inspections and monitoring visits.
• Manage budgets, staffing levels, rotas and resources effectively.
• Promote positive outcomes for children and support them to develop independence, confidence and life skills.
• Ensure the home provides a warm, stable and homely environment.

About you

We are looking for an experienced children's social care professional who can demonstrate:

• Previous experience as a Registered Manager, Deputy Manager or senior leader within a children's residential setting .
• A strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
• Knowledge of the Children's Homes Regulations and Quality Standards .
• Strong leadership and people-management skills.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• The ability to build positive relationships with children, staff, families and professionals.
• Confidence managing challenging situations and making sound decisions.
• A commitment to reflective practice, continuous improvement and excellent standards of care.
• Resilience, professionalism and a genuine passion for improving children's lives.

A Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent) is desirable, and candidates should meet the qualification requirements applicable to the Registered Manager role.

Previous experience managing a children's home and working with Ofsted is highly desirable.
