People Solutions are currently recruiting for an HGV Class 2 Driver to join our client's growing transport operation based in Doncaster and the surrounding areas .

Temp-to-perm opportunities are available for the right candidates.

This would suit applicants who have worked as an LGV Class 2 Driver, Category C Driver or Lorry Driver .

Rates of Pay:

• £14.74 per hour

Shift Pattern:

• 24-hour operation
• Various shifts available

Day-to-Day Duties:

Your duties as an HGV Class 2 Driver are:

• Safely operating and driving Category C vehicles
• Collecting food waste from industrial and commercial locations
• Ensuring loads are handled safely to prevent contamination and spillage
• Carrying out daily vehicle checks and reporting defects promptly
• Adhering to all road traffic legislation and company procedures
• Completing delivery records and transport paperwork accurately
• Communicating effectively with dispatch teams, customers and site staff
• Working alongside a Driver's Mate to complete collections efficiently
• Maintaining a professional and customer-focused approach at all times
• Following health and safety procedures throughout the working day

Essential Skills:

To be successful as an HGV Class 2 Driver , you will need:

• A valid UK Category C Driving Licence
• A valid CPC qualification card
• A valid digital tachograph card
• No more than six penalty points for minor offences
• No IN, DR, DD or CD endorsement codes
• Good communication and customer service skills
• A professional and reliable approach to work
• A good understanding of road safety and transport compliance
• The ability to work effectively with a Driver's Mate

Desirable Experience:

• Previous commercial driving experience
• Previous multi-drop delivery experience
• Experience within food waste collection
• Good customer service and client-facing experience

Training:

• Full industry-related training provided
• Ongoing support throughout your assignment
• Development opportunities to enhance your driving career
