I am looking for an experienced Commercial Category Lead to join a busy Commercial team for our central government client.
Due to the nature and urgency of the role, ideal candidates will be British Nationals and hold active SC clearance.
You will help shape and deliver major Technology procurement, focusing on hardware, software and cloud services in a central government setting. I am therefore keen to speak with candidates who have:

• Experience of operating in a dual-regime environment, managing both legacy frameworks and new PR23 requirements.
• Public sector commercial experience, preferably within digital, data and technology categories.
• Strong understanding of Government playbooks, including Sourcing, Construction, and Digital & Data.
• Deep knowledge of GCA and other frameworks, including mini competitions, direct awards and dynamic purchasing models.
• Experience procuring software, cloud platforms and technology infrastructure.
• Background in commercial governance, including contributing to business cases and securing commercial approvals.
• Strong commercial judgement, risk management skills and experience developing sourcing strategies for complex markets.
• Evidence of influencing senior decision makers and shaping stakeholder decisions.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder engagement skills.

Desirable skills include:

• MCIPS or equivalent professional membership.
• Experience leading and coaching commercial specialists.
• International sourcing or global supply chain experience.
• Exposure to AI procurement principles, including ethics, assurance and bias mitigation.
