People Solutions are currently recruiting for HGV Class 1 Drivers to join our well-established client based in Burton upon Trent, DE14 2WP .
Please note: Regardless of where this vacancy is advertised, the actual place of work and start/finish location for every shift is Burton upon Trent, DE14 2WP. Candidates must be able to reliably commute to this location for each shift.
This is a fantastic opportunity offering rates of pay up to £28.25 per hour, an incentive bonus of up to £550 for the forthcoming peak period, consistent Monday to Friday work, day or night shifts, weekly pay, ongoing work and the opportunity of a permanent position for suitable candidates .
This role would suit applicants who have previously worked as an HGV Class 1 Driver, LGV Class 1 Driver, Category CE Driver or Articulated Lorry Driver.

Rates of Pay
• £22.25 per hour – Midnight to 11:59am
• £24.25 per hour – 12:00pm to 11:59pm
• £26.85 per hour – Saturdays
• £28.25 per hour – Sundays / Bank Holidays
Shift Pattern
• Monday to Friday
• AM and PM shifts available
• AM start times between 01:00 and 04:00
• PM start times between 17:00 and 19:00
• All shifts start and finish from Burton upon Trent, DE14 2WP

Day-to-Day Duties
Your duties as an HGV Class 1 Driver are:
• Safely operating Category C+E vehicles, predominantly using double-decker trailers
• Completing multidrop deliveries to stores and collecting returns where appropriate
• Handling both palletised goods and cages
• Following the air-lock process for night deliveries
• Making timely deliveries to various destinations
• Communicating effectively with the transport team
• Adhering to company policies, procedures and safety regulations
• Ensuring full compliance with driving laws and Working Time Directive requirements
Essential Skills
To be successful as an HGV Class 1 Driver , you will need:
• A valid UK Category CE Licence
• A valid UK CPC Card and Digital Tachograph Card
• A minimum of two years' continuous HGV Class 1 driving experience
• No more than six penalty points for minor infringements
• No major endorsement codes
• Excellent communication and time-management skills
• A professional and reliable attitude
• Ability to reliably commute to Burton upon Trent, DE14 2WP for every shift
Training Provided
• Driving assessment required prior to starting
• Full industry-related training and ongoing support throughout your assignment
