Pay Rate: £16.50 per hour

Job Type: Ongoing Work, temp to perm and perm options available
Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday
Start Time: 05:00–06:00
Nights Out: Available if driver wishes
About the Role
Recruit A Driver is currently recruiting experienced Class 1 HGV Drivers for ongoing general haulage work based in Sheffield.
The role involves delivering a range of goods to farms, retail units including pet shops, and distribution centres .
Nights out are available for drivers who prefer to stay away, with the company offering flexible working arrangements around individual driver requirements.
The Role
• Complete general haulage deliveries to customer locations
• Deliver to farms, retail units and distribution centres
• Some loads may be collected and delivered directly from customers
• Drivers choosing nights out will leave the Shefield depot on Day 1
• Working hours can be tailored around individual requirements where possible
• Some drivers may work up to their legal limits, while others prefer shorter days
• Complete required vehicle checks and transport paperwork
Requirements
• Valid UK Class 1 (C+E) licence
• Valid Driver CPC Qualification Card
• Valid Digital Tachograph Card
• Reliable, professional and safety-focused approach
• Willingness to undertake general haulage work
• Good understanding of vehicle checks and Driver Hours Regulations
Training & Support
• 1–2 days in-cab training with an experienced driver
• Half-day site familiarity with mechanics and loading supervisors
• 1-hour paperwork training with the transport office
• Training and support provided regardless of previous experience level
Pay & Additional Benefits
• £16.50 per hour
• £26.20 tax-free + £7.50 taxed overnight subsistence when staying away
• Up to £22 contribution towards overnight parking
