A temporary opportunity is available for an experienced HGV Class 1 Driver based in Chesterfield. You will support the safe and timely movement of freight, working professionally with customers, transport teams and delivery locations.

This Chesterfield-based freight transport business provides UK and international transport solutions, including palletised freight, next-day deliveries and tailored logistics support. Its services include delivery tracking, ETA notifications, evening deliveries, tail-lift deliveries and storage options, helping customers manage their consignments effectively.
Key responsibilities
• Drive HGV Class 1 vehicles safely and responsibly
• Complete collections and deliveries within agreed timeframes
• Carry out daily vehicle safety checks and report any defects
• Secure loads correctly and follow loading and unloading procedures
• Complete delivery paperwork and electronic records accurately
• Communicate courteously with customers and transport colleagues
• Follow drivers' hours, tachograph, health and safety requirements
• Represent the business professionally at collection and delivery points
Skills and qualifications
• Valid HGV Class 1 licence, Category C+E
• Driver CPC qualification and digital tachograph card
• Previous commercial driving experience
• Good knowledge of road safety and drivers' hours regulations
• Reliable, xwwtmva punctual and safety-conscious approach
• Professional communication and customer service skills
• Ability to work independently and manage delivery schedules
• Flexibility to complete physical loading, unloading or delivery duties where required
