To ensure Chepstow School is maintained to a high standard of cleanliness, hygiene and safety, providing a clean and welcoming environment for pupils, staff and visitors.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out daily cleaning duties including sweeping, vacuuming, dusting, mopping and polishing.
Clean floors, walls, classrooms, offices, corridors and sanitary areas.
Empty litter bins and dispose of waste appropriately.
Safely operate vacuum cleaners, polishing machines and other cleaning equipment.
Use cleaning chemicals safely and in accordance with procedures.
Maintain appropriate stocks of cleaning materials and report shortages.
Report any faults with cleaning equipment to the supervisor.
Follow the Council's cleaning quality standards, Health & Safety procedures and safeguarding requirements.
Work effectively as part of the Facilities/Cleaning team.
Complete any relevant training required for the role.
Maintain high standards of hygiene and cleanliness at all times.
Follow equality, safeguarding and other Council policies and procedures.
Essential Skills & Experience
Previous experience in cleaning or hygiene work.
Good communication skills.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Reliable, flexible and able to work to required standards.
Good understanding of workplace health and safety.
Ability and willingness to follow cleaning procedures and safely use cleaning products and equipment.
Commitment to safeguarding children and maintaining a safe environment.
