Metallurgical Technician

ABOUT YOU

You will have a keen eye for detail, with a passion for producing accurate, high-quality work. You'll be confident and comfortable working with laboratory equipment to carry out microscopic evaluation, corrosion testing and chemical analysis. As a collaborative team player, you'll communicate effectively with colleagues and clients, thrive in a quality-driven environment, and be committed to continuous improvement and delivering excellent results.

Required skills and experience:

• Good IT literacy skills
• Degree or qualification in sciences or another technical discipline.
• Clear and effective communication skills

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-established laboratory where you'll play a key role in delivering high-quality metallurgical testing and analysis services. Working alongside an experienced team, you'll be involved in the preparation, testing and evaluation of metal samples for a diverse range of industries, helping clients make informed engineering and manufacturing decisions. In return, you'll have the opportunity to further develop your technical expertise, work with modern laboratory equipment and techniques, and contribute to a business that values quality, collaboration and professional development.

Key activities:

• Metallurgical preparation of metal samples in line with specifications, including sectioning, grinding, polishing and etching of samples.
• Microscopic Evaluation of samples to specifications.
• Performance of corrosion tests.
• Chemical analysis of metal samples.
• Report analysis findings in an accurate and concise manner.
