HR Advisor
Grantham - onsite working
£35,000 + Enhanced Benefits
Permanent & Full Time

SF Partners is exclusively recruiting for an experienced HR Advisor to join an established and growing organisation based in Grantham. This is a fantastic opportunity for a hands-on HR professional who enjoys variety, thrives in a busy environment and wants to be part of a close-knit, supportive HR team where they can genuinely make a difference. The business has experienced significant growth and change in recent years, creating an interesting and varied HR environment. With different teams, processes and ways of working across the organisation, there is plenty of opportunity to get involved, build relationships and help bring greater consistency to the wider HR function.

This isn't a role where you'll simply follow a set process or pass queries on to someone else. We're looking for someone who enjoys getting stuck in, takes ownership of their work and has the confidence to think for themselves, ask questions and find practical solutions. Reporting directly to the HR Director, you'll work alongside an experienced HR team, providing generalist advice and support to managers and employees, whilst also getting involved in wider HR projects, administration, training and internal communications.

What will you be doing?

  • Providing practical, commercially focused HR advice and guidance to managers across the business.
  • Managing a varied employee relations caseload, including absence, performance, conduct, capability, disciplinary and grievance matters.
  • Supporting managers through sensitive and sometimes complex people situations, ensuring the right processes are followed.
  • Building strong relationships with managers and becoming a trusted point of contact for day-to-day HR matters.
  • Supporting organisational change, employee consultations and the integration of different teams and processes.
  • Ensuring HR documentation, employee records, contracts and systems are accurate and up to date.
  • Supporting Occupational Health referrals, absence management and employee wellbeing matters.
  • Coordinating training activity, maintaining training records and supporting employee development initiatives.
  • Assisting with internal communications, helping ensure important information and updates are shared effectively across the business.
  • Supporting wider HR projects, process improvements and initiatives to improve consistency and efficiency.
  • Getting involved in the general day-to-day running of a busy HR function, including HR administration, employee queries and compliance.

What are we looking for?
We're looking for someone with a solid foundation in generalist HR who is comfortable managing their own workload and providing advice to managers. However, personality, attitude and approach are just as important as experience for this opportunity.
You'll ideally bring:

  • Previous experience in an HR Advisor or similar generalist HR position.
  • Good working knowledge of employee relations and UK employment legislation.
  • Confidence advising managers and handling day-to-day HR matters independently.
  • Excellent attention to detail, particularly when reviewing contracts, employee information and HR documentation.
  • A proactive, organised approach, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • A willingness to learn, ask questions and challenge information rather than simply accepting things at face value.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships with people at all levels.
  • A practical, adaptable mindset and the ability to work in an environment where processes aren't always straightforward.
  • A genuine willingness to get involved in both advisory and administrative responsibilities.

Experience within a multi-site organisation, a growing business or an environment that has experienced change would be advantageous, but isn't essential. Most importantly, we're looking for someone who is down-to-earth, willing to learn and happy to roll their sleeves up. Someone who enjoys being part of a team but doesn't need constant direction to get things done.

What's on offer?

  • Salary £35,000
  • 23 days annual leave plus bank holidays and an additional day off for your birthday
  • Holiday entitlement increasing with length of service
  • Company-paid parking
  • Private medical insurance
  • Life insurance
  • Flexible benefits scheme
  • The opportunity to work closely with an experienced HR Director & experienced HR team
  • Exposure to a broad range of HR matters, projects and business change
