If you’re organised, passionate about learner development and confident taking ownership of programme delivery, this could be an excellent next step in your career.

About the Organisation

Our client delivers adult learning, employability and skills programmes designed to help individuals progress towards sustainable employment and further development.

Through employability training, employer engagement, practical learning and progression support, the organisation helps learners build the skills and confidence needed to move into work or further learning.

With around 10 learners starting each month and plans for continued programme growth, this is an opportunity to play an important role in improving learner outcomes and supporting the development of local provision.

About the Role

As a Lead Employability Tutor, you’ll deliver high-quality employability training while overseeing day-to-day programme activity and supporting learners throughout their journey.

Based in the office in Heckmondwike, you’ll work closely with learners, employers, referral partners and colleagues to maintain engagement, monitor progress and help learners achieve their goals.

Key responsibilities include:

Delivering engaging employability training, confidence-building sessions and workplace-readiness activities.

Coordinating day-to-day programme delivery and taking ownership of learner progress.

Managing learner engagement, attendance, retention and progression.

Supporting inductions, initial assessments, Individual Learning Plans (ILPs) and RARPA processes.

Monitoring learner progress and providing appropriate support and interventions.

Preparing learners for work experience, employer engagement, interviews and job opportunities.

Supporting progression into employment, apprenticeships or further training.

Maintaining accurate learner records, evidence and programme documentation.

Working with employers, referral partners and colleagues to develop progression opportunities.

Supporting programme quality, reporting, safeguarding and continuous improvement.

Ideal Candidate

You’ll be an experienced employability professional who can combine effective classroom delivery with strong organisation and programme coordination skills.

You’ll ideally have:

Proven experience delivering government-funded employability programmes.

Experience as an Employability Tutor, Employability Practitioner or in a similar role.

Confidence delivering engaging, classroom-based training.

Strong skills in learner engagement, retention and progression.

The ability to coordinate programme activity and take responsibility for learner outcomes.

Excellent communication, organisation and time-management skills.

A good understanding of safeguarding, Prevent and learner support requirements.

Experience delivering Construction, Retrofit or Green Skills training, or previous programme coordination experience, would be highly desirable.

Why Apply?

Competitive hourly rate: £20-£30 per hour.

Part-time opportunity: A role suited to an experienced tutor seeking part-time work.
