Diagnostic Vehicle Technician

We are working on behalf of a reputable, family-run garage located in Oldham, Greater Manchester, to appoint a skilled Diagnostic Vehicle Technician. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced technician seeking a stable, long-term role within a supportive workshop environment.

Competitive basic salary of £32,000 – £34,000, dependent on experience and qualifications

Monday to Friday working hours, generally around 7:30am – 5:00pm
No weekend working required

Investment in workshop expansion, providing additional working baysDuties of the Diagnostic Vehicle Technician:

Conduct servicing, maintenance, and repairs across a range of vehicles
Diagnose and repair complex mechanical, electrical, and electronic faults
Utilise diagnostic equipment to identify faults and determine appropriate repairs
Perform vehicle inspections, fault-finding procedures, and component testing
Work confidently with modern vehicle electrical and electronic systems; knowledge of electric vehicles is advantageous
Complete repairs efficiently while maintaining high standards of workmanship and health and safety regulations
Support colleagues by sharing technical knowledge
Conduct MOT testing where qualified and requiredRequirements of the Diagnostic Vehicle Technician:

Proven experience as a Vehicle Technician, Diagnostic Vehicle Technician, or Senior Technician
Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills in mechanical and electrical systems
Relevant automotive qualifications, ideally to Level 3 or higher
MOT testing licence is desirable but not essential
Experience with modern vehicle technology, electrical systems, or EVs is beneficial
Reliable, professional approach with attention to detail
Pride in quality workmanship and ability to work well within a team
