SEN Teaching Assistant
London
Are you a caring and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant who wants to make a genuine difference to the lives of young people?
Learning Support Assistant
Location: N9
Start Date: ASAP
Contract: Full-Time, Long-Term
We are currently recruiting for a dedicated, compassionate and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to join a welcoming specialist SEN school in the N9 area. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting children and young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN), particularly those with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
This role would suit someone who enjoys working in a dynamic, active school environment and has the patience, resilience and understanding required to support pupils with a range of additional needs. The successful candidate will play a key role in helping pupils overcome barriers to learning, develop positive relationships and achieve their individual potential.
You will work closely with teachers and other support staff to provide tailored 1:1 and small group support, helping pupils engage with classroom activities, manage their emotions and develop essential communication, social and independent living skills. You will support children and young people who may experience difficulties with emotional regulation, social interaction, communication and behaviour, using positive strategies to encourage engagement and promote a calm, structured and supportive learning environment.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience supporting pupils with ASD, SEMH or challenging behaviour, whether gained within a school, care setting or similar environment. The ideal candidate will be proactive, adaptable and confident in building trusting relationships with pupils, providing consistent support and responding appropriately to their individual needs.
If you are passionate about making a meaningful difference in the lives of children and young people with ASD and SEMH needs, and you are committed to helping them build confidence, develop independence and thrive in education, we would love to hear from you.
