This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic, motivated and committed teacher who can deliver engaging lessons, inspire pupils and create a positive learning environment where every child has the opportunity to thrive. We are looking for a teacher who is confident in delivering the Key Stage 2 curriculum and can adapt their teaching to meet the needs of pupils with a range of abilities.
Whether you are an experienced primary teacher or an ECT looking to gain further classroom experience, we would love to hear from you!
The Role - Qualified Teacher (Year 4 & Year 5)
As the Year 4 and Year 5 Teacher, you will play a key role in supporting pupils' academic progress, personal development and confidence throughout Key Stage 2. You will be responsible for planning and delivering high-quality lessons that encourage participation, develop essential skills and promote a love of learning.
Your responsibilities will include:

  • Planning and delivering engaging, creative and differentiated lessons in line with the Key Stage 2 national curriculum.
  • Teaching and covering classes across Year 4 and Year 5, ensuring continuity of learning and a smooth transition between lessons.
  • Delivering high-quality teaching in core subjects, including English, Maths and Science, alongside other areas of the primary curriculum.
  • Creating a positive, inclusive and well-managed classroom environment where pupils feel safe, supported and motivated to learn.
  • Managing classroom behaviour effectively by establishing clear expectations, routines and positive relationships with pupils.
  • Assessing pupils' learning and progress, identifying areas for development and adapting lessons to meet individual learning needs.
  • Supporting pupils of varying abilities, including those who require additional help or further academic challenge.
  • Maintaining high standards of teaching, learning and pupil engagement throughout the school day.
  • Building positive relationships with pupils, colleagues and school staff to support a collaborative learning environment.
  • Following school policies, safeguarding procedures and professional standards at all times.
  • Ensuring pupils remain engaged, supported and on track with their learning objectives, even when providing short-term or longer-term class cover.

The successful candidate will be confident in taking responsibility for a classroom, delivering structured lessons and maintaining a calm, purposeful learning environment. You will have a genuine passion for primary education and the ability to make a positive difference to pupils in Year 4 and Year 5.
The Ideal Candidate
To be considered for this Qualified Primary Teacher role, you will need:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Experience teaching within a primary school setting, ideally across Key Stage 2.
  • Strong knowledge of the Year 4 and Year 5 curriculum.
  • Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills.
  • The ability to plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons.
  • A positive, flexible and proactive approach to teaching and learning.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • The ability to adapt quickly to the needs of the school and pupils.

Experience teaching Year 4 or Year 5 would be highly advantageous, although teachers with broader Key Stage 2 experience are encouraged to apply.
