Job Overview

We are currently recruiting experienced Class 1 LGV Drivers for ongoing ad hoc work in Rugby, supporting a busy logistics and distribution operation.

This is an excellent opportunity for drivers looking for flexible work, with shifts available to suit your availability, including weekdays, weekends, mornings and afternoons/evenings.

Pay rates range from £21.00 to £26.75 per hour, depending on the assignment and shift.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely operate a Class 1 LGV vehicle to transport goods and materials.
• Complete deliveries and collections safely, professionally and on time.
• Carry out daily vehicle safety checks and report any defects correctly.
• Comply with drivers’ hours regulations and Working Time Directive (WTD) requirements.
• Complete relevant paperwork and delivery documentation accurately.
• Follow site-specific health and safety procedures.
• Maintain a professional attitude when dealing with customers, colleagues and site staff.
• Ensure all driving activities comply with road transport legislation and company procedures.

Requirements

• Valid UK HGV Class 1 (C+E) driving licence.
• Minimum of 24 months’ Class 1 driving experience.
• Valid Driver CPC (DCPC) card.
• Valid digital tachograph card.
• No more than 6 penalty points.
• No DD or DR driving convictions.
• Good understanding of drivers’ hours and WTD legislation.
• Ability to carry out vehicle checks and report defects correctly.
• Excellent communication skills and a professional attitude.
• Strong commitment to health and safety
