Are you a capable Recruitment Consultant who enjoys building relationships, developing accounts and delivering a genuinely high-quality service? This is an opportunity to join a specialist recruitment business entering an important period of growth. You will inherit a platform from which to develop, working alongside an experienced Business Development Manager to convert opportunities, strengthen client relationships and grow sustainable revenue.

The role offers a refreshing balance. You will remain close to candidates and delivery while developing the commercial skills required to identify leads, open conversations and expand existing accounts. It is not a position built around relentless cold calling, arbitrary activity targets or chasing volume at the expense of quality.

We are looking for someone who wants to do recruitment properly.

The Role

As a Recruitment Consultant, you will manage a blend of recruitment delivery, account management, lead generation and business development activity. Working alongside our Business Development Manager, you will play an important part in turning new client opportunities into productive, long-term relationships. You will also help develop existing accounts by understanding each client’s wider recruitment needs, identifying opportunities for growth and consistently delivering a service that builds trust.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Managing vacancies from initial briefing through to successful placement
• Building credible relationships with clients, candidates and key stakeholders
• Sourcing, engaging and qualifying high-calibre candidates
• Managing candidate processes professionally and maintaining regular communication
• Working closely with the Business Development Manager on agreed target markets and prospective clients
• Researching organisations and identifying relevant decision-makers
• Generating well-qualified leads and initiating meaningful commercial conversations
• Supporting meetings, proposals, follow-up activity and new-client conversion
• Developing existing accounts by identifying additional recruitment requirements
• Maintaining accurate and useful information within the CRM

What We Are Looking For

You may already be an experienced Recruitment Consultant, Delivery Consultant or Account Manager who is ready for broader commercial responsibility. Alternatively, you may be a commercially capable recruiter who has discovered that the traditional high-volume agency model no longer suits the way you want to work.

Experience recruiting within a qualified, professional or technical market would be an advantage. This could include healthcare, life sciences, engineering, technology, scientific, clinical or another specialist sector. However, it is not essential if you can demonstrate sound recruitment judgement, strong relationship-building skills and the ability to learn a market properly.

You are likely to succeed in this role if you:

• Have previous recruitment experience in an agency environment
• Can confidently manage both clients and candidates
• Understand how excellent delivery contributes to account growth
• Are comfortable identifying leads and beginning new client conversations
• Can communicate credibly with managers, professionals and senior decision-makers
• Take a consultative approach rather than relying on scripted sales techniques
• Are organised, accountable and commercially aware
• Care about candidate experience and client outcomes
• Prefer building sustainable relationships to chasing short-term transactions
• Are motivated by high standards and take personal pride in the quality of your work
