HR Business Advisor

HR Business Advisor (Temporary)
Location: Maldon, Essex
Contract: 2 months, temporary
Hours: Full-time
Working Pattern: Office-based initially, with flexibility to reduce on-site attendance once fully trained.
The Role
We are looking for an experienced HR Business Advisor to provide professional, timely and accurate HR support on a temporary basis.
You will act as a key point of contact for managers and employees, providing practical advice on a range of HR and employee relations matters, ensuring cases are managed fairly, consistently and in line with employment legislation and HR policies.
Key Responsibilities

• Manage a range of HR cases from initial enquiry through to resolution, escalating complex matters where appropriate.
• Provide clear, practical advice and guidance to managers and employees on HR policies and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with employment legislation, confidentiality and data protection requirements.
• Maintain accurate records using HR systems and case management tools.
• Prioritise multiple cases, meeting deadlines and agreed service standards.
• Support improvements to HR processes, guidance and overall service delivery.

About You
You will have previous experience in an HR, People Services or similar role, with a good understanding of employee relations, HR policies and employment legislation.
You will also have:

• Experience managing HR casework and advising internal customers.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• A professional and confidential approach when handling sensitive information.
• Confidence using HR systems and Microsoft Office applications.

Previous local authority experience would be advantageous.
