General Maintenance Operative

About the Role

We are seeking a reliable and proactive General Maintenance Operative to join our team. In this role, you will look after the day-to-day upkeep, routine repairs, and safety checks of our facilities. This is a hands-on position perfect for a skilled multi-trader who enjoys variety, takes pride in keeping a site running smoothly, and is ready to utilize a company vehicle for the role.

Key Responsibilities

· Carry out general maintenance tasks and handywork including painting, carpentry touches, and basic repairs.

· Conduct routine facility checks and preventative maintenance.

· Assist with basic plumbing and electrical troubleshooting as needed.

· Respond to reactive maintenance requests efficiently and safely.

· Operate the company vehicle responsibly to travel between tasks or sites.

· Work collaboratively with the wider team and external contractors.

· Participate in the weekend on-call rota (1 weekend in 5) once fully trained.

What We Are Looking For

· A full, clean UK driving licence (essential for operating the company vehicle).

· Proven experience in general handywork and building maintenance.

· Plumbing and electrical skills are highly desirable and will be considered a strong bonus.

· A strong team player who is happy to support colleagues and share tasks.

· A good level of spoken and written English to communicate clearly with staff and log maintenance notes.

· A proactive, problem-solving attitude and strong time-management skills.
