About the Role

Bexley Council is seeking an experienced and confident Advanced Children & Family Practitioner to join its Families First – Family Help Service.

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled social work professional to provide advanced practice, professional leadership and expert safeguarding guidance while supporting children and families with complex needs requiring statutory intervention.

The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring high-quality assessments, effective care planning and impactful interventions that safeguard children and improve family outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a complex caseload of children and families requiring statutory intervention.
• Provide professional leadership, advanced social work practice and expert safeguarding advice.
• Oversee assessments, care planning and interventions to ensure high standards of practice.
• Support colleagues in managing complex safeguarding situations and making informed decisions.
• Promote child-centred practice and positive outcomes for children and families.
• Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, policies and statutory guidance.
