Sports, Performing Arts & Graduates – School Cover Supervisor

Are you a graduate, sports coach, dance teacher, actor, musician or performing arts professional looking for flexible work around your existing commitments?

Quokka Education is looking for confident and engaging individuals to work as Cover Supervisors in secondary schools across Winchester, including one of Hampshire's top-performing secondary schools

No classroom experience? No problem.

If you’re comfortable leading a group, communicating clearly and engaging young people, you already have many of the skills schools are looking for.

We’ll help with the rest.

Why Quokka Education?

We don’t throw people into schools and hope for the best.

If you’re new to working in schools, we’ll make sure you’re properly prepared before your first booking.

You’ll have access to:

• Free training and online learning modules
• Induction and taster days in local schools
• Classroom and behaviour management training
• Guidance on each school’s policies and expectations
• Ongoing support from our local team

Work Around Your Schedule

You choose the days you want to work.

We offer you bookings and you decide whether you want to accept them.

Whether you want one day a week around university, coaching, performing or other commitments, or regular work throughout the school year, we can work around your availability.

What Does a Cover Supervisor Do?

You’ll typically work from around 8.30am–3pm, supervising secondary school classes when their usual teacher is absent.

The work has already been prepared. Your job is to keep students engaged, on task and following the school’s expectations.

No lesson planning. No marking. No work to take home.

Who Are We Looking For?

We’d particularly like to hear from graduates, sports coaches, dance teachers, actors, musicians and performing arts professionals.

Previous school experience is helpful, but it isn’t essential.

If you’re confident, reliable, good with young people and interested in working in schools, we’d love to hear from you.

All pay is through PAYE – no umbrella companies or hidden deductions.
