Polytec are looking for an Experienced Assembly Technician for our client based just west of Cambridge. You will have good hands-on experience of high precision mechanical assembly and testing skills.

Responsibilities:

Assemble precision components and assemblies to tight tolerances and high-quality standards
Get hands-on with assembly, testing, fault-finding and troubleshooting
Investigate any issues or malfunctions and make modifications where needed
Carry out tests, record the results and make sure everything meets the required specification
Make sure test equipment and tools are calibrated, working correctly and fit for purpose
Work closely with colleagues and other teams across the business
Get involved in Lean activities and share ideas on improvements
Look for ways to reduce waste, improve efficiency and make assembly processes better
Follow established processes and procedures, including those covered by ISO 9001 and ISO 14001
Help maintain high standards of quality, safety and compliance
Take on other tasks and responsibilities as needed from time to time

Requirements:

Experience with both mechanical and electrical assembly
Good communication and organisational skills, with the ability to work well as part of a team
A good understanding of vacuum systems and how they work
A practical, hands-on approach and a willingness to get stuck in
Experience working in a cleanroom environment would be an advantage
