Scrap Metal Burner

The Role
We are recruiting an experienced Scrap Metal Burner to work directly for a busy recycling yard in Tipton.
This is a hands-on role involving cutting heavy steel and oversized scrap metal using oxy-propane burning equipment, preparing materials for recycling and supporting the day-to-day operation of the yard.
Duties

• Operating oxy-propane burning equipment to cut scrap metal and heavy steel.
• Cutting large metal items into manageable sizes for processing and recycling.
• Working safely around heavy materials, machinery and vehicles.
• Following health and safety and fire prevention procedures.
• Checking equipment and maintaining a safe working area.
• Assisting with general scrap yard duties when required.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a scrap metal burner or gas cutter.
• Confident using oxy-propane cutting equipment.
• Experience cutting heavy steel and oversized scrap.
• Reliable, hardworking and safety-conscious.
• Comfortable working outdoors in an industrial environment.

No CSCS card is required.

This is not self-employed or subcontract work.
Hours
7am - 5pm - Monday to Friday
