Drama & Music Teacher
Wakefield | Oct Half term start | Until End of Term
Not every teaching role is easy. This isn't one of them.
We're working with a secondary school in Wakefield that serves a community facing significant social and economic challenges. The students can be energetic, demanding and, at times, challenging. Many come with barriers to learning and behaviours that reflect the difficulties they experience outside of school.
What they need is a teacher who can see beyond that.
The school is looking for a resilient, engaging Drama & Music Teacher who can bring creativity, structure and passion into the classroom. You'll be teaching KS3 and KS4 students, delivering lessons that inspire participation, build confidence and provide a positive outlet for self-expression.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a teacher who understands that the arts can be transformational and who thrives on making a difference where it's needed most.
The Role
Teaching Drama and Music across KS3 and KS4
Planning and delivering engaging, inclusive lessons
Creating a positive classroom culture with clear expectations
Encouraging participation, creativity and confidence
Working closely with school staff to support student progress
Full-time position until the end of the term
The Ideal Candidate
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
Experience teaching Drama, Music or Performing Arts in secondary schools
Strong behaviour management skills
Resilient, adaptable and able to build positive relationships quickly
Passionate about helping young people achieve their potential
Able to maintain high expectations while showing empathy and understanding
Why This Role?
This isn't a school where you'll simply deliver lessons and go home. It's a place where your impact will be felt every day. For the right teacher, the rewards are significant. You'll have the opportunity to inspire young people who need positive role models, helping them develop confidence, resilience and a love of learning through the performing arts.
If you're a teacher who can bring energy, consistency and creativity to the classroom, we'd love to hear from you.
