Medical Officer & Attendance Support

We are seeking a caring, organised, and proactive Medical Officer & Attendance Support professional to join a supportive SEN school environment. This role is vital in ensuring students' medical, welfare, and attendance needs are effectively managed, helping to create a safe, nurturing, and positive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide first aid and respond to medical incidents and emergencies.
• Support students with medical conditions and healthcare needs.
• Manage medication safely and maintain accurate records.
• Develop and review Individual Healthcare Plans.
• Monitor attendance and follow up on unexplained or concerning absences.
• Liaise with families, healthcare professionals, and external agencies.
• Coordinate vaccinations, appointments, and other health-related arrangements.
• Maintain confidential medical, welfare, and attendance records.
• Support safeguarding and student wellbeing across the school.

Requirements

• Experience in a school, healthcare, welfare, pastoral, or attendance-based role.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to work calmly and effectively in a busy environment.
• Experience managing sensitive and confidential information.
• First Aid qualification desirable (or willingness to undertake training).
• Understanding of safeguarding and attendance procedures.
