Humanities Teacher Specification

We are currently recruiting for a passionate and dedicated Humanities Teacher to join a middle school in Redditch, with an immediate start available. This is a long-term, part-time role teaching KS3 students only.

The successful applicant will teach Humanities across KS3, with responsibility for planning and delivering lessons, marking students' work and assessing progress. The role requires a confident teacher who can create engaging lessons, adapt learning to meet students' needs and maintain strong classroom management.

Please note, this is a challenging school with high levels of behavioural need. An experienced, resilient teacher with excellent behaviour management skills is essential to succeed in this environment.

Essential Requirements:

UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or recognised equivalent qualification.
Experience teaching Humanities at KS3.
Confident teaching subjects such as History, Geography and RE, depending on experience.
Experience planning, marking and assessing students' work.
Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
Ability to adapt lessons to meet different learning needs.
Safeguarding Level 1 trained (support available if required).
Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.

Key responsibilities:

Plan and deliver engaging, well-structured Humanities lessons across KS3.
Mark students' work and provide constructive feedback.
Assess and monitor student progress, adapting teaching where necessary.
Maintain high standards of behaviour and create a positive learning environment.
Differentiate lessons to support students of varying abilities and needs.
Work collaboratively with colleagues to support student progress and development.
