MOT Technician

We are recruiting on behalf of a reputable dealership in Portsmouth for the position of MOT Technician. Competitive basic salary up to £34,000, with potential to earn £39,000 OTE through a rewarding bonus scheme
Monday to Friday work pattern, 8:00am – 5:00pm
One Saturday every two months, 8:30am – 12:30pm
23 days annual leave plus bank holidays

Opportunity for career progression within a professional dealership settingDuties of a MOT Technician:

Carrying out vehicle repairs and servicing in accordance with manufacturer and dealership standards
Conducting MOT testing with an MOT licence (Level 3 preferred; Level 2 with testing licence considered)
Diagnosing automotive faults and performing effective repairs
Liaising with customers regarding vehicle issues and repair work
Supporting and mentoring junior technicians in the workshop
Ensuring health and safety standards are maintained and the working environment remains safe and tidy
Participating in ongoing technical training to stay updated with the latest vehicle technologyRequirements of a MOT Technician:

Full UK driving licence
MOT Tester qualification (Level 3 preferred, Level 2 with testing licence considered)
Relevant technical qualifications such as NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair
Demonstrable workshop experience and technical proficiency
Strong organisational skills with good attention to detail
Self-motivated, proactive, and committed to delivering excellent customer service
