General Manager

We are currently seeking an experienced General Manager to join our client’s reputable automotive business in Scarborough.
The General Manager will play a pivotal role in leading the business operations, driving growth, and ensuring exceptional customer service. This is a unique opportunity for a motivated General Manager to oversee a diverse range of vehicles within a family-run enterprise that values strong leadership and strategic development.
Benefits:

• Competitive basic salary up to around £70,000, dependent on experience
• Possible top-ups to approximately £75,000 based on performance

Duties as the General Manager will involve:

• Oversee daily operations across all departments, ensuring efficiency
• Lead, motivate, and develop the team to meet and exceed business goals
• Monitor financial performance, sales targets, and profit margins
• Implement strategies to increase revenue and improve overall performance
• Maintain high standards of customer service and satisfaction
• Manage recruitment, staff training, and development initiatives
• Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation and company procedures
• Cultivate and sustain strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and manufacturer representatives
• Report on business performance and identify opportunities for future growth

Requirements:

• Proven management experience within the automotive industry, either as a General Manager or Service Manager/Workshop Controller
• Strong understanding of the motor trade sector
• Demonstrable ability to lead, motivate, and develop teams
• Experience in managing budgets, profitability, and performance targets
• Excellent communication, organisational, and decision-making skills
• Commercial mindset with a focus on business development
• Full UK driving licence
