Air Source Heat Pump Field Sales Consultant

About the Role,

Our client is a renewable energy business supplying and installing heat pumps for homeowners. They are looking for one Field Sales Representative to turn homeowner enquiries into heat pump sales through home visits.

Every visit is booked for you by an appointment setter, and appointments are grouped by area so travel time is kept sensible, usually no more than 4 visits a day. Each visit combines a sales conversation with a property survey, so the design and installation teams get everything they need from one appointment. Once you've visited, the quote passes to the Remote Sales Rep, and you're involved again at handover if the customer goes ahead.

Key Responsibilities:

• Visit homeowners at home and find out what they need from a new heating system
• Explain how a heat pump works, whether it suits the property, the likely costs and the grants available
• Survey the property using the company survey app, including tracing or scanning the floor plan, adding windows and heat emitters, photographing the existing heating system, and choosing locations for the heat pump and hot water cylinder
• Prepare a short note for each property (5 to 10 minutes) covering the options the customer is considering and the different quotes to be prepared
• Hand a complete, accurate survey to the design and installation teams
• Keep customer records and the pipeline up to date, and report against targets

Requirements:

• A record of selling to homeowners face to face and hitting sales targets
• Sales level knowledge of heat pumps: how they work, which homes suit them, running costs and grants (including the Boiler Upgrade Scheme)
• Confident using a phone or tablet app, and careful with layouts, room details and photos
• Full UK driving licence and your own car, insured for business use, with a valid MOT
• An iPhone Pro, as the survey uses the phone's LiDAR scanner (the company may be able to provide one if you don't have one)
• Living within practical reach of the territory, ideally near the western or northern M25 (roughly junctions 10 to 23)
• Right to work in the UK
• Fluent English, with native level preferred. Bilingual English and Russian is also welcome

Desirable:

• A background in heating, plumbing, renewables or home improvement sales
• Experience of property surveys, floor plans or heat loss software (training is provided and the app saves a lot of time)
• Familiarity with MCS standards and the consumer rules for selling in people's homes (a cheat sheet is provided)
• Experience of working from a CRM

Targets:

• 15 to 20 visits a week, with some weeks fewer depending on the month
• 20 sales a month, with a ladder bonus system introduced monthly

Package:

• Base pay plus bonus (figures to be confirmed)
• Fuel covered by the company
• ULEZ, Congestion Charge and parking covered by the company
• Appointments booked for you, so no need to find your own leads
• Training provided on the brands and wet heating systems you'll sell

Checks:

The role is subject to right to work, driving licence, business insurance and MOT checks, a basic DBS check, and references that confirm your sales record. The car should be ULEZ compliant.
