As a WCA Functional Assessor, you'll use your clinical knowledge, assessment skills and professional judgement to assess how a person's health conditions affect their ability to work and undertake work-related activities.

You'll speak with individuals with a wide range of physical and mental health conditions, exploring their medical history and understanding how their conditions affect their functional ability.
You'll use structured questioning, review relevant evidence and apply your clinical reasoning and professional judgement before producing detailed, objective and evidence-based reports.
The role is challenging and requires strong communication, clinical reasoning, organisation and report-writing skills.
You'll manage a caseload and work to quality and performance expectations.The challenge is different — not easier.

Instead of providing hands-on care or working unpredictable shifts, you'll use your clinical expertise in an assessment-focused role with much more structure around your working week.
