Chartered Building Surveyor
City of London, London
Plenty of consultancies say they offer variety. Few London teams will put a recently qualified Chartered Building Surveyor onto dilapidations…
Want to be the name clients ask for? Here, Associates are backed to specialise in the work they actually enjoy and build a real reputation for it. You'll have a national platform behind you, and almost nothing between you and the people running the business.
The London team covers everything from dilapidations and large defect investigations to project monitoring and rights of light, with industrial, logistics and offices at its core. Most instructions come back from established clients or arrive through referral from agency and investment colleagues, so the work is there to deliver and grow.
The Associate Building Surveyor Role
You'll lead your own instructions and some of the team's key client relationships. The mix of project and professional work will be shaped around your specialism, and larger dilapidations and defect matters on industrial portfolios come up regularly.
Alongside earning fees, you'll develop the junior team, review their work and help grow London's turnover. Directors are easy to reach, and stepping up to Associate Director is realistic if you perform.
Duties of the Associate Building Surveyor to include:
Leading complex dilapidations claims and negotiations on industrial and office portfolios
Directing large-scale defect investigations and root cause analyses
Running technical due diligence for investor and occupier clients
Overseeing contract administration on refurbishment projects
Acting as lead adviser within your specialist area
Managing key accounts and identifying follow-on instructions
Preparing bids, fee proposals and pitches
Reviewing reports and mentoring surveyors and apprenticesThe Person?
