Customer Service Representative

Sue Ross Recruitment are delighted to be working with our client in the recruitment of a Customer Service Specialist to join their established and growing customer service team.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced customer service professional looking to take the next step in their career. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing complex customer accounts, handling both domestic and export orders, resolving queries, and acting as a key point of support for customers, colleagues and internal stakeholders.

The role would suit someone with strong order management experience, excellent communication skills and the ability to build lasting customer relationships in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Processing customer sales orders accurately and within agreed deadlines.
• Managing customer enquiries via telephone, email and electronic communication channels.
• Handling complex customer requirements, order amendments, complaints and queries.
• Managing all levels of order complexity, including export orders, certifications and associated documentation.
• Building and maintaining strong relationships with customers and key stakeholders.
• Acting as a liaison between customers, sales teams and other departments.
• Providing timely updates regarding orders, deliveries and product availability.
• Assisting with shipping coordination, inventory enquiries, plant schedules and sales activities.
• Resolving customer issues proactively while ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.
• Preparing professional correspondence and customer communications.
• Supporting key business projects, including new product introductions, customer onboarding, systems enhancements and process improvements.
• Contributing as a subject matter expert within the customer service function.
• Participating in team meetings and cross-functional projects as required.
• Supporting the onboarding and development of new team members through coaching and training.

The Ideal Candidate

We are keen to speak with candidates who can demonstrate:

• A minimum of 2-3 years' progressive customer service experience.
• Experience managing customer accounts within a manufacturing, distribution, technical or business-to-business environment.
• Strong order processing and order management experience.
• Excellent problem-solving and customer relationship management skills.

Technical Skills & Experience

The successful candidate will ideally have experience of:

• Managing customer enquiries and resolving customer concerns.
• Processing domestic and export orders.
• Developing professional customer communications and correspondence.
• Working closely with multiple departments to achieve customer-focused outcomes.
• Applying policies and procedures to resolve complex situations.
• Using ERP systems such as SAP, Sage, Oracle or similar business systems.
• Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint.

This role would be particularly suited to an experienced Customer Service Representative, Customer Account Coordinator, Internal Sales Coordinator or Customer Service Advisor looking to progress into a more specialist position with greater responsibility and involvement in key business projects.
